The stamped 8 digit number (on the top side of battery)is not a date code. There was a weak screened "MA1948" on top of my battery, this is the date manufactured. I contacted Yuasa and they would not share the code system with me but they did offer to tell me the date of manufacture if I gave them the the code from the top.
Lead-acid batteries are widely used in various applications, including vehicles, backup power systems, and renewable energy storage. They are known for their relatively low cost and high surge current levels, making them a popular choice for high-load applications.
Or, you may find a date sticker on the top or side that looks like this: Original-equipment batteries will be the age of the vehicle (month and year manufactured).

That looks like a lead acid battery with 2 cells. Luckily, assuming a relatively healthy battery you can get a rough idea of the charge level by just measuring the open circuit voltage. Here''s a table of values for some rough voltages to expect (computed using value ...
Sealed lead-acid batteries, also known as valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, are maintenance-free and do not require regular topping up of electrolyte levels. They are sealed with a valve that allows the release of gases during charging and discharging.
Lead-acid batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that uses lead and lead oxide electrodes submerged in an electrolyte solution of sulfuric acid and water. They are commonly used in vehicles, backup power supplies, and other applications that require a reliable and long-lasting source of energy.
The 1st two digits of the serial number are letters with the remaining 10 digits being numbers. The date code is on a label located on the back side of the battery. The code is one letter, followed by one number. The letter is code for the month. See table below
It features advanced lead-calcium technology that provides up to 3 times the reserve capacity of standard lead-acid batteries, making it ideal for high-performance cars and trucks. Legend Premium APM Battery also has a higher cold cranking amps rating, providing reliable starting power in even the most extreme weather conditions.
A car battery has a heat stamped code on the side. You should feel a rough spot somewhere and see a manufacturer''s code. Look for a code on it that starts with the letters A-L (A being January B being February, and so on with L being December) That date is the ...
The age of a car battery can be determined using the serial number. However, this method can be more difficult because not all manufacturers use the same coding system. It is best to refer to the manufacturer''s guidelines or contact them directly to …
Every CSB brand lead acid battery has a manufacturing date code like the one pictured above. The first 6 digits indicate the manufacturing date in the format YY MM DD - so in the case …
The model number is ultimately what will tell you the size of the battery. For example, take the model 18-85-17, where: The first number indicates the number of cells. It also doubles as an indication of the voltage, since each …
Alright, guys, the first thing I usually do when checking if a battery is AGM is to look for the label.Keep your eyes peeled for any mention of "AGM" directly on the battery. Sometimes, it''s unclear, so you''ll want to check …

The first two digits identify the year. (For example, 21 = 2021, 22 = 2022, 19 = 2019 etc.) The second two numbers specify the month, from 01 to 12. The fourth character designates the …
By deciphering date codes, reading serial numbers, and understanding battery labels, you can effectively assess the age and condition of your battery. Visual inspection clues, checking receipts and records, using multimeters and testers, recognizing aging signs, and assessing health indicators are all valuable tools in this process.
Proper Techniques: While using a lead-acid charger for lithium batteries isn''t safe, methods like desulfation or additives can effectively restore lead-acid batteries. Safety First : Always prioritize safety when working with batteries and seek professional guidance if needed to ensure effective management and longevity.
